A full-stack travel platform that connects algorithmic trip scheduling with multi-party financial collaboration. Built with Django and client-side telemetry, it replaces disjointed spreadsheets and split-bill calculators with an integrated system for discovering destinations, generating day-by-day itineraries, and settling group expenses.
The Problem
Travelers juggle separate apps for research, itinerary scheduling, stay bookings, and route pacing, leading to disjointed plans.
Structuring realistic day-by-day travel timelines with appropriate pacing, cost estimates, and geographical grouping requires tedious manual curation.
Splitting trip costs across uneven contributions, shared receipts, and multiple members creates complex debt webs that are difficult to reconcile.
The Core Engineering
Unlike conventional travel directories that display static catalogs, TourCraze generates structured multi-day schedules dynamically. The itinerary engine synthesizes target duration, traveler count, budget constraints, and travel styles into structured daily timelines with cost estimates and transit pacing.
For group finances, TripSplit implements a Greedy Minimum Cash Flow settlement algorithm. By computing the net balance of every traveler and repeatedly pairing the largest net debtor with the largest net creditor, it collapses tangled multi-party debt webs into the minimum number of direct settlement transactions.
